Whole Foods Organic French loaf is $1.29 making this bread pudding affordable and healthy. Fresh Organic strawberries add natural sweetness with 1/2 cup sugar rather than 1 cup.   • 4 cups cubed (stale) bread (I used a sourdough boule)
  • 1 cup cream
  • 1-1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup strawberries, chopped up
  1. Whisk cream, milk, sugar, butter, eggs.
  2. Arrange bread crumbs and strawberries in a buttered casserole dish.
  3. Pour milk mixture over bread and bake at 350 for 45 minutes to 1 hour until puffed and no longer jiggly.
  4. Server warm or room temperature with more fresh strawberries and/or vanilla bean ice cream.
